How To Care For And Maintain Virgin Hair Bundles

For Content

If you have naturally curly or wavy hair and desire a straight style, or if you have straight hair and want to try curls, consider buying virgin human hair bundles. Natural virgin hair has never been chemically processed and is smooth, sleek and healthy. You may prefer to use natural, rather than synthetic, hair to create a more authentic look.

Typically, the hair sews into place, and you can use a matching lace closure to create a seamless look against your scalp. Depending on your size and how much area your want to cover on your head, you may need three or four virgin hair bundles to create a full style. You can also use just one or two bundles to add volume to a ponytail or other updo, or use the hair extensions to add instant length to short hair.

Caring for the hair bundles is similar to caring for your own natural tresses. Here are some tips for keeping the virgin locks looking their best and lasting as long as possible:

  1. Before installing your new hair, wash it with a moisturizing shampoo, such as one containing hydrating coconut, shea or argan oil. Gently work the shampoo into a lather with your hands, and then rinse it clean with warm water.
  2. Squeeze out the excess water and place the bundle on a clean, absorbent cloth and allow it to thoroughly air dry before styling it. Avoid using a blow dryer, which could damage the pristine tresses. Avoid sleeping on wet hair, which could cause the locks to become matted or tangled.
  3. Repeat this process at least once a week to keep the hair clean, fresh and smelling good. If the hair begins to feel oily or weighed-down, use a clarifying shampoo to remove any build-up debris.
  4. Comb the clean, dry virgin hair with a paddle brush featuring all-natural bristles or a wide-tooth comb to avoid breaking the strands. If you choose to style the hair with a heated instrument, such as curling iron or a straightener, treat it with a heat protectant spray, cream or leave-in conditioner first.
  5. If you want to alter the hair bundles with a chemical process, such as highlights or a perm, have a professional do it to avoid damage. Care for the processed bundles just as you would your own natural hair by using products formulated for the type of treatment you had done.
